This is what appeasement brings

Well, B. Hussein Obama has done it. All of his apologizing, grovelling overseas tours where he shamefully confessed how awful America is and how wonderful her enemies are, has finally paid off. Al-Quaida has generously called off the war against the Christian west, Iran is now just making pretty rugs instead of nukes and missiles, and Kim Jong-Il now loves us. Oh wait, time to get back to reality.

Even as Obama is identifying himself more and more as a Muslim, even recently calling the U.S. a "Muslim country", our enemies are ramping up their anti-American rhetoric and arming themselves for all-out war with the Allies of freedom. According to this Washington Post article, Obama's desperate attempts at appeasement diplomacy are really working well. It describes Obama's recent "Shame America Tour" stop in Saudi Arabia: "Shortly after Obama arrived, Al Jazeera television aired a recording by al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden in which he said the U.S. president had planted seeds for "revenge and hatred" toward the United States in the Muslim world."

Well, Mr. President, with friends like that who needs enemies! I guess Mr. Bin Laden hasn't been listening to all of your "please forgive us" speeches? Or maybe he just isn't the forgiving type? I mean forgiveness is a centerpiece of the Christian faith, not so much the Muslim religion. When will we learn from the lessons of history? If appeasement did not work in 1939 with Chamberlain, et. al., what makes us think it will work in 2009?

Powell has no credibility

Colin Powell is now trying to say that Republicans have become two narrow and need to broaden their base. He is criticizing Limbaugh and Cheney for moving the party away from the middle in his moderate opinion. In a recent Washington Post article, Powell asks, "Are we simply moving further to the right, and by so doing opening up the right-of-center and the center to be taken over by independents and to be taken over by Democrats?"
Well General, you may have had the position and credibility to ask such a question a year ago, but your recent Specter-like defection in the 2008 Presidential campaign has taken away and street cred you ever had with true Republicans. The party nominated the most moderate Republican candidate it has put forward in over 30 years. And what did you do Mr. Powell? You jumped ship for the bandwagon of the most liberal Democratic presidential candidate ever!! And now you have the nerve to criticize the party for moving to the right?
I'm all for including as many people as possible, we obviously have to appeal to independents and moderates to win a national election, but when Powell makes these statements after supporting a socialist like Obama, it is the utmost in hypocrisy. We need to reaffirm the conservative values that underpin the Republican party, not because it is best for the party, but because these values are best for the country, or whatever is left of this country after the radical left is done trashing it under this current administration and congress. If we embrace the most liberal elements of the Democratic party, as Powell has done, why don't we all just become Democrats?

Specter the Defector

Well, our beloved leftist Senator from my great state of PA has finally shown his true colors. Benedict Arnold, Alger Hiss, John Hansen, and now Arlen Specter joins the pantheon of traitors and villains that mar our history with treachery. If you are a Republican from PA, make that a conservative from anywhere, you should be disgusted by this poor excuse for a politician. Specter must even make slimy politicians feel slimy. He gave us many hints of his hidden leftist leanings, the latest being sticking his nose up at his constituents and pulling the "yes" lever for B. Husseins egregious porkulus spending bill.

And now, outrage of outrages, he is implying that Jack Kemp may be alive if not for the lack of GOP support for funding cancer research. Kemp was a true conservative, and it is rubbing salt in the wounds for a pretender like Specter to use the good name of an honest man like Kemp to promote his "look at me, I'm a Democrat now" relection campaign. People of PA, we must work with every fiber of our being to ensure that this spineless empty bag of hot air, assuming he makes it through the Democratic primary, is sent home in the general election next year. He should have been retired a long time ago.

The triumph of socialism

Those of you who are jubilant over Obama's recent coronation, consider where he wants to take this country. He wants to make us into France, or worse maybe Cuba or Venezuela. Obama and his liberal congress allies are trying to leverage their newfound power into a socialist agenda that they are trying to hammer down the throats of a still mostly conservative, freedom-loving populace. Witness the current "porkulus bill" scandal. This bill has nothing to do with stimulus, but everything to do with satisfying special interests and empowering liberal thugs. Obama has cast aside his smiling, "hope-and-change, put away the old politics of division" campaign message and has resorted to using fear to bludgeon the Republican opposition. He says if we don't pass this bill today, a "crisis will become catastrophe". Translation, do what he wants or the country will go down the tubes. So much for hope, so much for bipartisanship.
I just listened to a caller to the Mark Levin radio program who touted Obama's message of hope and pointed to the great success of socialism in France. Well, ironically, there is a recent article talking about how people are suffering so bad in Paris that they have taken to scavenging from garbage dumps outside of food markets! Read this article you will see where Obama wants to take us. Socialism has failed to generate economic growth every time it has been tried. If you want to see what America could look like in four years, look at France. If you want to see what eight years of this administration might look like, look at Venezuela. Like Chavez, Obama and other liberals like Senator Stabenow from Michigan (whose husband just happens to be the former executive of liberal Air America, can you say 'conflict of interest?) want to silence any media (read talk radio) that opposes their agenda. Look out, the leftist gestapo is at the door of freedom. What will they censor next? Conservative internet sites, newspapers, FoxNews?? Will they apply the same level of control over liberal networks like CBS and news outlets like the New York Times? I think the answer to that question is obvious.

Liberal Media bias

The leftist mainstream media continues to unashamedly display its liberal bias in the recent stories on democrat scandals. Two Democratic governors are under investigation for corruption and the stories are being sidelined by the press and other outlets. And when it is reported, you never hear the word "Democrat" in front of Blagojevich or Richardson. If they were from the other party, every reference would be "Republican Blagojevich" or "Republican Richardson". Remember how in 2006 the theme on CNN, NBC, et. al. was "Republican culture of corruption"?? Well where are the stories on the current "Democratic" corruption culture?
